Deputy Practice Manager/Office Manager

Peel View Medical Centre, Kirkintilloch
Full Time (flexibility required)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Deputy Practice Manager/Office Manager to join our busy and friendly GP practice.

This is a key leadership role supporting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day running of the practice. You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of services, delivering high standards of patient care, and supporting our administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities

Line management of administration staff
Managing staff rotas, annual leave, and sickness absence
Handling escalated patient queries and complaints in absence of the practice Manager.
Overseeing clinical system workflows and task management
Supporting finance processes including petty cash and private income
Supporting compliance, audits, and health & safety processes
Assisting the Practice Manager with operational planning and service delivery

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in working within a GP practice (essential)
Confident in using GP clinical systems (e.g. EMIS, Docman or IGPR)
Ideally experienced in using Xero accounting software
Experienced in a fast-paced administrative or healthcare environment
Confident managing staff and leading a team
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload
A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
