Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating brake press machinery to fabricate sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. The Brake Press Operator will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products, contributing to the overall success of our production line.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate brake press machinery according to specifications and technical drawings
- Adjust tooling and machine settings to ensure precise bending of sheet metal components
- Perform routine inspections of finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with grinding, welding, or assembly tasks as required to support production needs
- Use hand tools and tooling equipment to support fabrication processes
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards
- Document production activities accurately and report any machine issues or defects promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Brake Press Operator or in a similar fabrication role
- Knowledge of sheet metal working, grinding, welding, and assembly processes
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with hand tools, tooling, and basic maths for measurements and calculations
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic understanding of safety procedures related to machinery operation and fabrication environments
- Prior experience with fabrication, sheet metal work, or mechanical knowledge is highly desirable
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
