In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring cost data is robust, reliable, and aligned to project goals. You'll bring clarity to financial performance through reporting, analysis and forecasting, helping project teams make informed decisions. Your ability to spot trends, challenge data, and maintain consistency across systems will be essential.
You'll contribute to earned value and cost analysis, working with planners and project stakeholders to ensure alignment between cost and schedule. Preparing forecasts, supporting payment applications, and maintaining accurate financial data will form part of your day-to-day responsibilities. You'll also have the opportunity to support continuous improvement, identifying ways to enhance cost processes, reporting, and systems. Your input into change management and reviewing contractor and supplier estimates will help ensure projects remain on track and deliver value.

Ensure all cost data is accurate and up to date.

Prepare payment applications and project forecasts.

Produce monthly reports, including PSR and dashboards.

Support earned value and cost analysis.

Maintain cost forecasts in line with project structure.

Keep cost data updated in financial systems.

Deliver reports on time as per reporting cycles.

Work closely with project teams on cost reporting and analysis.

Support cost processes and monthly reporting improvements.

Help manage project changes and assess cost impacts.

Review cost estimates from contractors and suppliers.

Work with planners to align cost and schedule.

Support continuous improvement of cost systems and processes.

A recognised diploma or degree, or qualified by experience.

Membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, ACostE, ICES, AACE or similar) is desirable.

Understanding of cost management methodologies and techniques.

Understanding of earned value analysis.

Ability to reconcile and analyse cost information.

Good working knowledge of financial and cost management systems.

Strong report writing and presentation skills.

Good IT skills.

Experience within the nuclear and/or infrastructure sector.

Knowledge of estimating, scheduling and risk management techniques and associated software.

Experience of cost management in relation to contracts (e.g. NEC3/4, IChemE, FIDIC).

Effective client interface skills, with the ability to support project decision‑making through cost advice and analysis.

Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
