Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager the Project Manager is responsible for delivering customer and internal projects across TBW services, from initiation through to handover. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, to agreed quality standards, and with clear control of risks, dependencies, stakeholders, and delivery activity.
Travel to customer and TBW sites may be required to support project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and effective project outcomes. A full UK driving licence is therefore advantageous.
Key areas of Responsibility
Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management
· Lead assigned projects from initiation through to completion and handover.
· Define scope, timelines, deliverables, success criteria, dependencies, and delivery expectations.
· Act as the main point of contact for customers, internal teams, and key stakeholders, managing expectations and keeping activity aligned to agreed outcomes.
· Provide clear, confident updates on progress, risks, issues, decisions, and outcomes, ensuring stakeholders understand what is needed and by when.
· Lead through influence by driving accountability, challenging blockers, and securing timely input from teams who contribute to project delivery.
Project Governance, Coordination & Reporting
· Maintain accurate project plans, actions, risks, issues, decisions, documentation, and governance records within ServiceNow and supporting project records.
· Track milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, and customer commitments against agreed delivery plans.
· Produce regular status reporting that is clear, accurate, and appropriate for the audience.
· Escalate risks, blockers, scope changes, decision gaps, and commercial concerns early, with clear options or recommendations where appropriate.
· Create structure and momentum by clarifying ownership, following up actions, and ensuring decisions are progressed.
Resource, Commercial & Delivery Control
· Coordinate delivery activity, resource planning, and day-to-day priorities across Project Management, Build & Release, Professional Services, and other supporting teams.
· Track project effort, costs, chargeable days, and delivery progress against agreed scope, budget, and commercial assumptions.
· Identify and challenge scope creep, unplanned activity, delivery changes, or customer delays that may impact cost, margin, timelines, or commitments.
· Ensure additional requirements, out-of-scope work, or extra effort are captured, assessed, approved, and communicated through the agreed change control process.
· Escalate commercial and delivery risks early, including overrun risk, under-scoped work, resource constraints, and potential revenue leakage.
Support effective project closure, including handover into support or operational teams, lessons learned, and completion of final documentation.
Essential Skills
· Proven experience delivering projects from initiation through to completion.
· Experience in a customer-facing, operational, technology, deployment, or managed services environment.
· Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate activity, influence others, and manage expectations across multiple teams.
· Clear communication and reporting skills, with the ability to tailor updates for different audiences.
· Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, actions, risks, issues, dependencies, and deadlines.
· Understanding of risk, quality, compliance, governance, and change control within structured project environments.
· Commercial awareness, including the ability to identify scope, budget, effort, and delivery risks.
· Ability to balance customer needs with agreed scope, commercial controls, and delivery priorities.
· Confidence to challenge delays, unclear ownership, scope creep, or unresolved decisions in a constructive and professional way.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desirable Skills & Experience
· PRINCE2 Foundation, Agile, or equivalent project management qualification.
· Experience using ServiceNow, or similar project management, planning, reporting, or workflow tools to track progress, risks, actions, and dependencies.
· Understanding of commercial project controls, including effort tracking, change control, day-rate usage, budget impact, and revenue protection.
· Experience supporting customer workshops, project kick-off meetings, governance reviews, or project closure sessions.
Awareness of service transition, handover into support, operational readiness, or post-project support processes.
Key Measures of Success
· Projects are delivered in line with agreed time, cost, scope, quality, and customer expectations.
· Forecasts, milestones, actions, risks, issues, dependencies, ServiceNow records, and governance documents are accurate, visible, and kept up to date.
· Stakeholders receive clear, timely, and audience-appropriate updates, with decisions and escalations progressed quickly.
· Scope changes, additional effort, commercial risks, chargeable days, and potential overruns are identified early and managed through agreed controls.
· Projects are closed with effective handover, confirmed ownership of next steps, lessons learned, and support or operational readiness in place.
Customers and internal teams have confidence in the project position, delivery plan, and route to completion
