About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, organised, and commercially aware Reception & Rates Manager to lead our front office team while overseeing room pricing and revenue performance.

This is a hands-on role combining exceptional guest service, team leadership, and commercial awareness. You will manage the day-to-day running of reception while monitoring and optimising our pricing strategy using our revenue management platform.

We already utilise Right Revenue to support automated pricing and forecasting, so this role is less about building strategy from scratch and more about monitoring performance, making informed adjustments where needed, and ensuring opportunities are not missed.

Key ResponsibilitiesReception Management

Oversee the day-to-day running of hotel reception and front office operations
Lead, train, motivate, and develop the reception team
Manage staff rotas to ensure efficient coverage
Ensure a smooth and professional guest journey from check-in to departure
Handle guest complaints, escalations, and service recovery effectively
Maintain high standards of customer service and presentation
Ensure billing accuracy, payment handling, and shift reconciliation
Coordinate closely with housekeeping, maintenance, reservations, and F&B teams
Maintain operational procedures, compliance, and service standards

Rates & Revenue Management

Monitor room pricing and revenue performance using Guestline and Right Revenue
Review occupancy, booking pace, demand trends, and competitor activity
Make manual pricing adjustments where appropriate to maximise revenue
Ensure room availability, restrictions, stop-sells, and package rates are correctly managed
Monitor OTA performance across platforms such as Booking.com and Expedia
Maintain rate parity across all channels
Identify opportunities to improve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and direct bookings
Review daily and weekly reports to support commercial decision-making

Reservations & Commercial Support

Oversee reservations processes and booking accuracy
Support group bookings and allocation management
Encourage upselling and revenue opportunities at reception
Ensure enquiries are converted efficiently
Support promotional offers and package management

Essential

Previous hotel reception or front office management experience
Experience using hotel PMS/reservations systems
Good understanding of OTA platforms and channel management
Commercial awareness with an understanding of hotel pricing
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Excellent guest service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment
Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving ability

Pay: £29,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
