Veterinary Receptionist (Maternity Cover)
Full-Time – 40 hours per week
September 2026 – end December 2027 (with potential for a permanent role)

We are looking for a friendly, organised, and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team to cover maternity leave. This is a key front-of-house role within our busy practice, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team for the right person.
Working 40 hours per week, including 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, you will be at the heart of our client and patient experience - supporting both the rewarding and emotional aspects of veterinary care.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, you will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This position combines customer service, administration, and facilities support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcoming clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
- Answering telephone calls and handling client enquiries
- Booking and managing appointments efficiently
- Providing information on services and appointment processes
- Handling pre-authorisations and insurance claims
- Taking payments and managing financial transactions
- Completing daily administrative tasks
- Maintaining a clean, fresh, and welcoming reception and waiting area
- Relaying client queries to veterinary surgeons and nurses, and responding appropriately
- Supporting ongoing client communication and follow-ups
About You
This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves working with people and animals and understands that no two days are the same in veterinary practice.
You’ll be comfortable handling both happy moments and more sensitive situations, always approaching clients with kindness and empathy.
