Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Play Worker to join our team at Fun 4 Kids Bishop William Ward . In this role, you will support children’s development through play, supervision, and interaction, fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages creativity and social skills. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives while gaining valuable experience in childcare.
The position is term time only from 7.15am-9am and 2.45pm-6pm Monday to Friday equalling to 25 hours per week. There may be additional work available in the companys holiday club at Highwoods.
We will consider unqualified staff for this role as full training will be given, there is also opportunity to complete formal qualifications whilst working in this role.
Duties
- Supervise children during playtime activities, ensuring their safety at all times
- Organise and facilitate age-appropriate games and activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development
- Support children in developing social skills through positive interaction and guidance
- Maintain a clean and organised play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition
- Assist with setting up activity and play areas.
- Observe children’s behaviour and support children in self regulation.
- Foster an inclusive environment where all children feel welcome and supported.
- Prepare and serve snack.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or in a childcare setting is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to engage children in creative and age-appropriate activities
- Strong sense of responsibility and the ability to supervise multiple children simultaneously
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards child development
