Role Purpose
We are seeking a proactive, commercially minded individual to take ownership of our Business/Fleet Breakdown Policy growth. This role is responsible for building a robust sales pipeline, managing lead generation activity, driving conversion, and developing ongoing relationships with prospective clients.
Starting as a standalone position with support from existing Customer Service Representative Team, the role will develop into a team-leading position as the portfolio grows.
Basic Salary £35,000 + Bonus
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of prospective business and fleet customers.
- Manage a CRM and scheduling system to ensure all quotes, callbacks, and follow‑ups are completed in a timely and structured manner.
- Monitor, track, and report on lead stages and outcomes to support forecasting.
- Use CRM and internal systems to keep accurate records of activity and customer interactions.
Sales, Conversion and Retention
- Deliver high‑quality quotations tailored to customer needs.
- Convert leads into active policyholders, meeting sales, renewal and revenue targets.
- Build positive, long‑term relationships with businesses to maximise retention and year‑on‑year renewals.
- Process renewals end-to-end, including pre-renewal reviews, timely customer contact and accurate documentation.
Business Development & Strategy
- Develop an in-depth understanding of our Business & Fleet Breakdown Policy.
- Use market insight and customer feedback to propose initiatives that drive growth and policy uptake.
- Work closely with the Marketing Team to shape campaigns, prospecting lists, outreach strategies, and promotional material.
- Review policy wording regularly and make recommendations for improvements or enhancements.
- Implement and maintain appropriate client communications.
Operational Responsibilities
- Manage workflow efficiently to ensure sales processes run smoothly from initial contact to onboarding.
- Maintain strong relationships with Customer Service Representatives and other internal teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
- Produce regular performance reports, including lead volume, conversion rates, revenue growth, and customer trends.
Team Development (Future Scope)
- As the business portfolio grows, contribute to planning team structure and hiring additional sales or administrative support.
- Provide guidance and leadership to new team members once in place.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management (B2B preferred).
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing a busy diary and multiple follow‑ups.
- Excellent communication skills — confident, professional, and customer-focused.
- Ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- High attention to detail with strong administrative accuracy.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of the product area.
Desirable
- Experience within fleet sales, insurance, breakdown services, fleet management, or related industries.
- Experience reviewing or contributing to policy wordings.
- Exposure to developing or managing small teams.
- Understanding of sales pipelines and forecasting.
