Salary – £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Hours - Monday to Friday, 28-36 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

Holiday – 22 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

About the Senior Accountant role

We are TC Group, the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our team in either the Colchester or Clacton-on-Sea office!

We are open to full-time candidates (36 hours per week) or part-time candidates (minimum of 28 hours per week over 4 days).

We are looking for candidates who are AAT/ACCA qualified or are qualified by experience and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a practice environment.

Key responsibilities of a Senior Accountant will include:

Producing accounts for clients (limited companies, sold traders, partnerships, LLLPs, charities and groups)
Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and delivering a consistently high standard of service
Managing your own workload to ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time and within budget
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and assisting with tax compliance where required
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and industry developments
Adopting a hands-on approach as needed to support the wider team and ensure deadlines are met

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

AAT/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a practice environment
Knowledge of tax, audit & payroll is advantageous
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
Great attention to detail along with strong organisational skills
Pro-active, self-starter, with a positive attitude
