We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Mechanic to join our team.
The successful candidate will be on the path way to become a level 3 mechanic and possibly be put on an MOT testing course as well as additional industry training
This a great opportunity to work in and industry leading garage within the local area. The owner is highly respected and knowledgeable and over the course of 40 plus years has had teams of up to nine people. In recent year operational staff have been scaled back to just himself and one part time member whilst deciding the future and providing and opportunity to measure the the level of work rate that should be the standard per fully qualified mechanic. The future has now ben decided and there has been some recent investment with further investment both within and on the building planed.

You will gain more knowledge and information than working in a mains dealer here and the right candidates future will have more prospects as we look to rebuild team numbers.
ideally want a candidate who can one day be trusted to take ownership of a told such as workshop controller.
Duties
- Assist with the maintenance, repair, and servicing of motor vehicles inclusive of national company commercial vehicle fleet and retail customer work on cars and some motorcycles
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly and repair tasks
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate repairs and modifications
- Perform electrical work including wiring, troubleshooting electrical issues, and electrical system maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential faults or safety hazards
- Assist with equipment calibration, cleaning, and preventative maintenance programmes
- Support the team during heavy lifting operations using appropriate lifting equipment
- Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols. practicing good housekeeping and tool control.
Skills
- Experience or understanding of using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for assembly and repair
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in maintenance tasks
- Good customer service skills when interacting with team members or clients on-site
- Physically capable of performing heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Willingness to learn new skills in equipment repair, fabrication, electrical work, and maintenance

Pay: £12,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
