About the Role
As Site Foreman, you will oversee all yard activities at our Brownhills site, ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety are met at all times. You will be responsible for compliance with the site’s Environmental Permit, adherence to all RED Industries policies, and the safe, efficient handling of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste.
You will play a key role in maintaining site standards, supervising staff and contractors, and ensuring all operational processes are carried out correctly, safely and in line with legislation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring daily pre-use inspections for all FLTs and mobile plant are completed and any defects are reported promptly
- Carrying out site inspections, including daily walk-arounds and scheduled weekly checks
- Supervising on-site contractors and ensuring full compliance with Permit to Work requirements
- Operating counterbalance FLTs safely and upholding RED Industries’ P.A.S.S. policy across the team
- Ensuring all waste is safely separated, labelled, and compliant with HSG 71 guidelines and the Environmental Permit
- Maximising storage capacity by safely re‑palletising and double stacking where appropriate
- Maintaining housekeeping standards, including sweeping, litter picking and drum crushing
- Ensuring WEEE waste is deconstructed in the correct permitted building and maximised for recovery value
- Repacking materials from Chemsafe 800L containers to cut‑off IBCs to support stock control
- Working with Chemists/Waste Checkers to correctly batch compatible waste streams
- Completing and filing all incoming waste paperwork accurately
- Requesting timely dispatch of outgoing loads to prevent overstocking
- Weighing outgoing waste (where rebates apply) to support accrual accuracy
- Securing outgoing palletised waste to ensure safe road transport
- Loading waste in compliance with ADR regulations
- Completing and filing all outgoing waste documentation
- Promoting a proactive safety culture by reporting at least one near miss per month
- Providing occasional support at the Brownhills site when the Dudley facility is closed
This role is essential to ensuring safe operations, environmental compliance, and smooth workflow across the site.
Who We’re Looking ForEssential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience within the hazardous waste sector
- Strong understanding of hazardous waste legislation and compliance
- Previous warehouse or yard experience, including stock management
- Demonstrable experience in a supervisory or team‑lead role
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence with experience in a high‑risk environment
- IOSH certificate is preferred but successful candidate can be trained.

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
