About EiQ:
EiQ is entering a major growth phase as it evolves into a scalable, AI-enabled data platform powering global supply chain intelligence. With a target of 50%+ year-on-year growth, EiQ is becoming a core strategic asset within LRQA’s digital portfolio.

The Role:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will define and execute the end-to-end technology strategy for EiQ, ensuring the platform scales to support rapid commercial growth and the transition into an AI-driven product ecosystem.

This is a hands-on executive leadership role, combining strategic vision with direct technical ownership of architecture, engineering, data, and platform reliability.

The CTO will lead a 30-person engineering organisation and manage a £2M++ technology budget, operating in close partnership with the EiQ CEO, COO, and LRQA CDIO.

This position can be based in either the UK or Hong Kong

Key Responsibilities:

Define and own the technology vision and target architecture for the EiQ platform
Lead the evolution of EiQ into a scalable, multi-tenant SaaS and AI-enabled data platform
Drive end-to-end engineering delivery, platform performance, and operational reliability
Build and scale AI and data capabilities, including production AI use cases and data governance
Establish engineering excellence across delivery practices, automation, CI/CD, and quality standards
Ensure security, compliance, and resilience-by-design across all systems
Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing engineering organisation
Partner closely with product and business leadership to align technology with commercial strategy
Manage and optimise technology investment aligned to growth priorities

Required Experience:

Previous experience as CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Engineering
Strong background in SaaS or platform-based product environments
Proven experience leading architecture, engineering, and cloud-native systems
Demonstrated ability to scale engineering teams and delivery capability
Hands-on technical leadership style (player-coach mindset)

Preferred Experience

Experience delivering AI/ML or data-driven products in production
Background in multi-tenant SaaS platform design and scaling
Experience in high-growth or transformation environments
Exposure to regulated or security-sensitive industries

Success Measures

Platform scalability, reliability, and performance at global scale
Engineering velocity and delivery predictability
Successful adoption of AI capabilities within EiQ products
Strong data governance, quality, and observability
Growth and retention of a high-performing engineering organisation
