Join the People Team at a pivotal moment as we strengthen our strategic partnering model across the University. As a Head of People Partnering, you will play a central role in shaping how we deliver an ambitious People Strategy and in driving meaningful organisational improvement across your aligned faculty, school or professional services group.
You’ll work as a trusted advisor to senior leaders supporting them to translate strategic objectives into clear, impactful people plans. With a strong focus on data‑driven insight, you will identify emerging trends, diagnose challenges and influence decision‑making at the highest levels. Your work will span the full employee lifecycle, leading complex and strategic initiatives such as workforce planning, talent and succession, leadership development, organisational change and employee engagement.
You will lead and develop a small team of People Partners and Advisers, ensuring consistency, high standards and a collaborative approach across the People Partnering function. As a custodian of the University’s values and behaviours, you will champion a positive, inclusive culture and support leaders to embed this within their areas.
Collaboration will be at the heart of your role. You’ll work closely with Centres of Excellence, Case Management, and colleagues across the People Team to deliver high‑quality, joined‑up solutions. You will also act as a key escalation point, providing professional judgement, balanced advice and confident leadership in complex or sensitive situations.

About You
This role would suit an experienced senior HR professional with strong business acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, intellectually rich environment. You will be comfortable with ambiguity, confident in navigating competing priorities, and motivated by the opportunity to influence, shape and elevate people practice across a large and diverse organisation.

This role lies within the People Partnering team who are supported by the People Operations team and Centres of Excellence including Employee Relations, Talent and Development and Reward.
