Wheel Loader Operator (Construction and Works)
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri, 06:00 – 14:00
Contract: Temporary (10 August 2026 – 30 November 2026, ASAP Start)
Location: Castle Bromwich, B35 7AG
Pay Rate: £17.15 per hour
We are recruiting a Wheel Loader Operator to operate plant machinery and support construction and works activities on site. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with proven experience operating wheel loaders within a construction, industrial, waste management, or recycling environment.
About the Role:
As a Wheel Loader Operator, you will be responsible for operating a wheel loader safely and efficiently while supporting day-to-day site operations. You'll work as part of a team to ensure materials are handled effectively, operational targets are achieved, and all health and safety standards are maintained.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Operating a wheel loader safely and efficiently on site
- Carrying out loading, moving, and handling of materials as required
- Following all site health and safety procedures and operational instructions
- Completing daily equipment checks and reporting any faults or defects
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Working effectively as part of the site team to meet operational requirements
- Following company policies and client requirements at all times
- Attending and completing required inductions, compliance checks, and training
Requirements:
We're seeking a reliable and safety-conscious operative with relevant wheel loader operating experience.
You'll ideally have:
- Valid eligibility to work in the UK
- Relevant licence, qualification, or registration required for operating a wheel loader
- National Insurance number
- Good command of the English language
- Ability to attend and pass an in-person interview
- Completion of required compliance checks and induction (including client induction and contract documentation)
- Previous experience operating a wheel loader in a construction or works environment
- Good understanding of site health and safety procedures
- Experience working with large-scale plant equipment
- Previous experience working within waste management or recycling environments
- Knowledge of Veolia site procedures and working practices
