Job summary

We are currently recruiting a Junior Support Engineer to work on a hybrid basis, four days from our Coventry HQ and one day working remotely from home, Monday to Friday.

As a Junior Support Engineer, you will provide coordination, administration and front-line support to ensure an efficient and high-quality IT service for colleagues across the organisation. You will support the day-to-day running of the service desk, ensuring queries are managed effectively and systems are maintained to a high standard.

We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and an interest in developing their experience within an IT support environment. You will be comfortable working in a structured role, following processes and contributing to continuous service improvements.

We are the independent, impartial public body that unlocks success in British agriculture. Funded by a levy from over 100,000 British producers in the beef, lamb, pork, dairy and cereals sectors, we support and champion farmers, growers and processors, often where no one else can or will.

We share the expert, evidence-based research and reports that inform on-farm decision making. We promote British produce to the UK public through domestic marketing campaigns, and we identify and open new global export opportunities to help farm businesses grow.

We help levy payers learn more, sell more and export more to remain sustainable and profitable. Together, we deliver the insights, the influence and the impact that farmers need.

Job description

Manage the IT service management (ITSM) system, ensuring tickets are logged, tracked and progressed
Act as a first point of contact for IT queries, providing a responsive and professional service
Support procurement processes, including raising requisitions, managing deliveries and maintaining stock
Maintain accurate IT asset records and associated documentation
Carry out basic systems administration tasks, including maintaining user accounts
Support the team with administrative tasks and documentation of processes
Identify opportunities to improve ways of working and contribute to process improvements
Ensure all work is completed in line with agreed processes and standards

Person specification

Some previous experience in an administrative or IT support environment
Exposure to systems-based working and Microsoft Office 365
Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
Clear communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
Attention to detail and accuracy in your work
