About the role

Are you an experienced Pest Control Technician looking for your next challenge?

Barnet Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Pest Control Technician to join our Environmental Health & Public Protection Service. Working in one of London's largest and most diverse boroughs, you will play a vital role in protecting public health, supporting local communities and helping businesses remain safe and compliant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive and supportive team, broaden your expertise and contribute to high-quality frontline services that make a real difference to the lives of residents, workers and visitors.

As a Pest Control Technician, you will undertake pest inspections, investigations and treatments across a range of residential and commercial settings.

You will be responsible for identifying infestations, recommending and implementing effective treatment programmes, providing practical advice to customers and ensuring all work is delivered safely, professionally and in accordance with industry standards and best practice.

About you

We're looking for a professional, adaptable and customer-focused individual who is committed to delivering excellent pest management services.

You will have:

Accredited Level 2 Diploma / Certificate in Pest Management or equivalent e.g. through the Royal Society for Public Health or BPCA.
Practical experience in the identification and control of common pests, particularly rodents and crawling or flying insects.
Good knowledge of integrated pest management principles and safe pesticide use.
A sound understanding of health and safety requirements associated with pest control work.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
The ability to investigate problems, assess risks and determine appropriate control measures.
Good IT and administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet service standards.
A professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers and members of the public.
A full UK driving licence.
