Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Part-Time Pool Lifeguard (weekend shift) to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all pool visitors. The ideal candidate will be vigilant, approachable, and committed to maintaining a secure environment around the pool area. This role offers flexible hours suitable for students or those seeking part-time employment, with an emphasis on safeguarding swimming patrons and providing excellent customer service.
Duties
- Monitor the pool area continuously to identify and respond promptly to any safety concerns or emergencies
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to promote safe swimming practices
- Assist swimmers with questions or concerns, offering friendly and professional support
- Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment, including rescue aids and first aid supplies, ensuring they are in good condition
- Respond swiftly to emergencies, providing first aid or CPR as required until emergency services arrive
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pool deck and surrounding areas
- Record incidents or accidents accurately in accordance with organisational procedures
- Support opening and closing procedures for the pool facility as needed
Skills
- Valid lifeguard certification recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., RLSS or equivalent)
- Strong swimming ability with confidence in rescue techniques and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon appointment)
- Excellent observational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure during emergencies
- Good communication skills, approachable manner, and customer service orientation
- Organised with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, weekends, or evenings as required
