PCE Automation is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Beccles. This role involves the installation, wiring, and assembly of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic components to create complex control systems for bespoke automation machinery. Working from detailed engineering drawings and schematic diagrams, you will play a key role in ensuring our machines are built to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join our growing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in producing high-quality work. You will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical and pneumatic systems on bespoke automation machinery, both at our Beccles facility and occasionally at customer sites in the UK and overseas.
Key Responsibilities
- Install electrical components and wiring in accordance with schematic diagrams.
- Install pneumatic components, pipework, and equipment in line with pneumatic diagrams.
- Prepare and assemble cable routes, pipeways, brackets, and support systems.
- Connect electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility and functionality of components.
- Carry out pre-commissioning checks, testing, and fault-finding activities.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on systems.
- Diagnose electrical and pneumatic faults and carry out repairs or component replacements as required.
- Support machine installations and commissioning activities at customer premises in the UK and overseas.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and health and safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an Electrical Assembly Technician, Electrical Fitter, or similar role.
- Experience working with industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematic diagrams and technical drawings.
- Competent in the use of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work in a variety of industrial environments.
- Relevant vocational qualifications, electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent training.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer site installations in the UK and overseas.
