Position – Legal Aid Billing Processor
The role of a Legal Aid Billing Processor at Bidwell Henderson involves the processing and submitting of legal aid claims and bills to the Legal Aid Agency on behalf of solicitors firms.
There will be on the job training from the start and does not require a law degree. The position will involve learning new skills which once mastered will allow you to become an expert in your area. You will have direct access to a Manager for support. Ideal candidates will be motivated, hardworking, and accurate. They will have the ability to check their own work and above all show excellent client care. Confidentiality is key in this field of work.
Key Responsibilities
· Checking and progressing solicitor claims through an official government digital platform
· Liaising internally and externally with Chambers/Solicitors/Costs draftspersons/Legal Aid Agency regarding billing queries
· Learning legal concepts and theory
· Calculating figures and creating reports
· Monitoring claim deadlines
· Progression towards being an expert in your specified area
· Providing assistance to other departments when needed
