Location: Brockenhurst, New Forest (Hybrid: Fixed weekly pattern of office and home working)
Position: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, based on experience + benefits & study support
About Us
We are an established, client-focused financial planning practice providing bespoke wealth management, retirement, and tax planning solutions to individuals, families, and businesses. We pride ourselves on delivering a highly personalised, exemplary standard of service and advice.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an ambitious and meticulous Associate to work directly alongside the Practice Principal. This position offers a hands-on, comprehensive introduction to the profession, providing a structured pathway to progressing into a fully qualified Financial Adviser role.
The Role
This dual-focus position combines sophisticated administrative management, client relationship care, and technical financial services exposure. Working in close alignment with the Practice Principal, you will ensure that client consultations are seamlessly coordinated, follow-up actions are executed meticulously, and the technical operations of the practice run efficiently.
Working Pattern & Travel:
The position operates on a hybrid structure with a fixed weekly pattern of both office-based and remote working. Because our client base is national, the role requires regular travel to attend face-to-face client meetings alongside the Principal. Consequently, a high degree of professional flexibility is required, including occasional overnight travel within the UK (all business travel expenses are fully covered).
Key Responsibilities:
Consultation & Meeting Support: Accompany the Principal to client meetings across the UK, acting as a professional secondary representative, capturing comprehensive technical notes, and documenting clear action points.
Client & Provider Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for clients and product providers, managing complex administrative workflows and resolving queries efficiently.
Professional Correspondence: Draft high-quality, bespoke follow-up communications, client letters, and summaries of financial recommendations.
Technical Systems Management: Utilise specialised investment tools, platforms, and financial software to gather data, construct basic projections, and support the broader advice process.
Who You Are
This role is ideally suited to an ambitious graduate (holding a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or a related discipline) or an experienced Financial Services Administrator seeking a definitive, career-track progression.
Aspiration to Advise: A genuine, long-term ambition to develop into a client-facing, fully qualified Financial Adviser.
Professional Adaptability: Comfortable with national travel, fluid schedules, and occasional overnight stays to support widespread client relationships.
Advanced Communication Skills: Impeccable written and spoken English, with the ability to articulate technical financial details clearly and professionally.
Rigorous Attention to Detail: A strong commitment to accuracy and precision in financial administration and data management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A relevant degree OR solid experience within a UK wealth management or financial services environment.
- A full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel nationally are essential.
- Existing CII/PFS professional qualifications are not a prerequisite for application.
- Commitment to Professional Development: A dedicated willingness to study for industry-recognised qualifications (such as the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning) in your own time is essential to facilitate career progression.
What We Offer
- Direct mentorship and daily exposure to an experienced Practice Principal.
- A transparent, structured career roadmap from Associate to Adviser.
- Comprehensive study support (covering examination fees and study materials) upon successful completion of the probationary period.
- A professional working environment in Brockenhurst, complemented by a structured hybrid working routine.
