Applications are warmly welcomed for a Business Support Officer to join our growing team of Physical Health Psychologists in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Currently our clinicians work into Renal, Bariatric, Long Covid, Cancer and Palliative, and Complex Pain services.
The role is to establish and maintain a business support infrastructure necessary to assist the Service Manager, Operational and Clinical Leads in meeting the Trusts objectives and targets. This will include the development of systems and processes to monitor performance against the Trust’s Key Performance Indicators.
To analyse reports and extract data from all report formats for all Key Performance Indicators (Quantity & Quality) and feed this back to Service Manager, Operational and Clinical Lead in a format that can be used within Services/Teams for planning and supervision purposes.
Required to have the authority/ability to approach individual clinicians and highlight performance issues and request action. To escalate poor performance/compliance as necessary via the Operational and Clinical Leads with a requirement to further escalate if deemed necessary via Service Manager.

Request information / activity reports that are required on behalf of the Service Manager, Operational and Clinical Leads including care co-ordination, care cluster, data timeliness, contract monitoring reports, waiting times, cancelled clinics etc.
Provide a central point of contact to respond to/resolve any queries on behalf of Service Manager, Operational and Clinical Leads where appropriate in relation to all Key Performance Indicators
Monitor ESR Business Intelligence system to ensure compliance with staff mandatory training/appraisals/sickness – providing reports as necessary.
To ensure robust systems are in place to monitor, capture, extract and analyse relevant data to measure performance against contracts and to support compliance with Key Performance targets
providing relevant information on a daily basis in a variety of formats.
Monitor, extract and analyse complex information from a variety of sources including the Patient Information System in order to meet reporting requirements on a daily basis. This includes sensitive information contained within clinical documentation
There is a frequent requirement for sitting in a restricted position for a substantial proportion of the
working time either, at a computer desk, in meetings or while driving.
Requirement to concentrate for long periods of time working on reports such as the deep dive
report for KPIs. Post holder would be required to maintain concentration with interruptions on a
regular basis.

Attend and participate in the weekly meetings where required, updating the clinical system as necessary and sending letters, emails and other information as required.
Contribute to a robust and strong cohesive framework from the established BSO network, providing support to colleagues to ensure consistency and equity of provision across Services/Teams as required.
Responsible for liaising with Corporate / Support Services to obtain data / performance reports e.g. activity reports, workforce and business data, financial information.
Provide regular monthly Service/Team updates as required to Performance Manager, Operational and Clinical Leads. To be available for regular supervision by the Performance Manager.
Autonomy to provide a comprehensive business support infrastructure for the Service Managers, Operational and Clinical Leads in extracting and analysing reports and data for all Key Performance Indicators (Quantity and Quality) and feeding back in such a format that can be understood and actioned by the Services/Teams to achieve compliance, inform supervision and forward planning.

Assist the Service Manager, Performance Manager, Operational and Clinical Leads with monthly Nominal Roll, leave and expense returns as required – providing reports as necessary.
To deliver appropriate training to staff on the Patient Information System and identify and report any training issues/needs to the Service Manager, Performance Manager and Clinical Lead. Review Risk Register on a regular basis in line with local guidance.
Collate CQC evidence as directed by Performance Manager or Clinical Lead.

Significant experience in administration duties. Previous experience of setting up office/ administrative systems.
Experience or analytical processes. Ability to plan, schedule and organise day to day work. Handling sensitive data.
