Role Overview:
We are looking for a Trainee Paint Prep Technician to join our team, building next-generation lightweight aero structures for the fast growing UAV market, based in Stoke on Trent, UK.
Experience in painting, finishing or composites would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided. What is essential is good practical skills, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and an enthusiastic attitude to learning new skills and producing high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
As a Trainee Paint Prep Technician at Trent Composites, you will be working on lightweight, aerospace components; assembling, bonding, filling and finishing them to a high standard ready for paint. You will be working alongside a highly experienced painter and finisher, honing your own skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Accurately assembling and bonding components together.
· Filling and fairing joints by hand.
· Flatting (sanding) component surfaces ready for paint.
· Assisting the senior paint technician with component handling.
· Training towards spray painting components.
Experience & Requirements
· Experience working in manufacturing or production environment.
· Excellent manual dexterity and general practical skills.
· Ability to read and follow drawings and technical work instructions.
· Strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
· Good work ethic and reliability.
· This is a practical, hands-on role which will involve being on your feet and wearing PPE for much of the day.
Employment Details
· Hourly rate from £13.45/hr, dependent upon experience.
· The position is full time (37.5hrs/week) and permanent.
· Based in our modern industrial unit in Stoke-on-Trent.
· Working hours are Mon-Fri, 8am to 4pm.
· Potential for overtime.
· Company pension.
· On-site parking.
