Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Butchers Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and safety, with a keen interest in butchery and a high standard of customer relation skills. Tuesday to Saturday working

Responsibilities

Serving customers in a polite and engaging manner. Advising when required on preparation and cooking techniques. Processing cash and card payments.
Assisting with the preparation and cooking of our house baked pastry products.
Assisting with production of house produced butchery products, e.g. sausages, burgers etc.
Assist in the preparation and cutting of various meats according to specifications.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery, shop and kitchen areas, adhering to food safety standards.
Support the butcher in processing orders and preparing products for display.
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and sanitised regularly.
Help with inventory management, including receiving and storing meat products.
Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety practices is preferred.
Familiarity with butchering techniques or a willingness to learn is highly advantageous.
A confident and engaging manner in a customer facing environment is essential.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
A passion for food production and preparation, with an eagerness to develop skills in butchery.
Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
