The Role
Due to continued growth and expansion, we have an immediate opportunity for skilled and experienced CNC Miller to join our team. The successful candidates will work be joining a long-standing team based at our works in the Team Valley, Gateshead.
Key Responsibilities
- 3 & 4 Axis CNC Milling experience, preferably using MAZAK, Siemens, or HAAS control systems. 5 Axis experience advantageous.
- Operation of allocation machines to produce the work identified on issued route card and drawings.
- Check that correct information is provided on the route card, eg. checking drawing number and issue status match that described on drawing.
- Checking that material used is identified with job number and of correct type and dimensions.
- Production of work to the standards and tolerances defined on the drawing/specification or to the company’s standards where none are defined
- Signing/initialling route card to confirm that stages of work have been completed to a satisfactory standard.
- Carrying out defined regular maintenance and maintaining good housekeeping in and around your allocated machine(s)
- Be aware of, and try to adhere to, operation times defined on route card, highlight to supervisor when these are not practical.
- Setting tools & producing components to operator layout sheets as provided
- Loading/unloading of CNC machine tools and fixtures
- Ability to select, set and change tools
- Working on highly technical products to tight tolerances and strict quality standards
- To carry out activities additional to the above as identified by the supervisor.
- Follow the requirements of the company’s Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety system procedures and the responsibilities defined therein for your job title.
About you:
The successful candidate will be a qualified, fully skilled engineer, with a minimum of three years CNC Milling experience. They will be able to carry out 1st Inspections of their own work, and ideally will have experience of working to the quality standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Three years CNC programming/setting and operating experience
- Working knowledge of MAZAK, Siemens, or HAAS programming would be advantageous
- Experience of producing conforming first-offs to drawing and quality specifications
- Experience with modern quality control standards and measurement of parts
- Experience of working to tight tolerances
- The ability to work on your own initiative, good communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
