Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to develop their skills in food preparation, kitchen management, and hospitality. The successful candidate will support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This position is ideal for those with a passion for culinary arts and a desire to grow within a dynamic environment.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Support food presentation and plating to meet quality standards
Help with kitchen organisation, including cleaning, sanitising, and maintaining hygiene standards
Contribute to the supervision of junior team members and ensure smooth team operations
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies
Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
Support the team during service periods, providing excellent customer service when required
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety procedures

Experience

Previous experience in food production, catering, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Familiarity with kitchen environments, including food preparation and cooking techniques
Supervising or team management experience is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and restaurant operations
Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a restaurant or hotel is preferred
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering excellent service
