Robotic Welder Programmer – Full-Time Permanent Role (Late Shift)
The role
As a Robotic Welder Programmer, you will be responsible for optimising and improving manufacturing processes within the robotic welding function. This role involves day to operation of the machinery, identifying and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve product quality, and ensure a safe working environment. The robotic welder programmer will also work closely with the manufacturing Engineer, production teams, maintenance, quality control, and other departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
Robotic system operation: Operate and oversee robotic welding equipment to manufacture steel lintels, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Fixture setup: Accurately load and unload steel lintel components into robotic welding fixtures and ensure proper alignment.
- Welding program creation & optimisation: Create, write, and import new programs, and adapt existing ones for various steel lintel designs and specifications. Use knowledge to investigate additional products for production on the robot.
- Quality assurance: Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded lintels to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, including weld quality and conformance to dimensions/
- Troubleshooting & maintenance: Monitor robot performance, diagnose and resolve operational issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning and resetting equipment
- Safety adherence: Follow health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with the production, engineering, and maintenance teams to meet production targets and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Technical documentation: Maintain accurate records –of production activities, machine settings, and maintenance performed
- Mentorship & training: Train and mentor junior operators on best practices, safety protocols, and advanced welding techniques.
- Continuous Improvement: collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to improve related processes and optimise OEE
Skills and Experience
- Experience: Proven experience as a Robotic Programmer, preferably within a manufacturing or sheet metal environment.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of machine mechanics with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Drawing Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and identify potential issues.
- Attention to Detail: A commitment to producing high-quality work with strong attention to detail for precise measurements and cuts.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated, able to work competently unsupervised, and a reliable team player with good communication skills.
Shift Pattern Available
Late Shift
· Mon – Thurs: 13.30 to 23.45
