About The Role
The Junior Production Engineer will support the Production Team in ensuring manufacturing processes operate efficiently and effectively. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Planning and After Sales departments, you will provide technical support, manage production documentation, assist with process improvements, and help drive operational excellence throughout the factory.

JOB TITLE: Junior Production Engineer
REPORTING TO: Production Manager
SALARY: TBC
JOB PURPOSE: To assist the Production Engineer to ensure that the Edge manufacturing process is as efficient as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the other members of the Production Team and reporting to the Production Manager.
- Provide assistance to the After Sales Department regarding sales of fabricated parts to help ensure the customer receives the correct fabricated parts or assemblies.
- Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs and the labour required.
- Management of fabricated BOMs and material movement throughout the factory.
- Provide engineering support to the Production Supervisors and their respective departments in relation to BOMs, drawing queries and manufacturing problems.
- Responsible for updating all engineering drawings on the factory floor.
- Review and make improvements to standard processes and operating procedures. Specific focus on eliminating scrap material / waste.
- Implementing engineering changes ECNs and NPRs.
- Engineer drawings to be vetted and corrected for manufacturing needs.
- Pay attention to specifications – in particular bespoke items, either new or changed machines and alert Production Manager for issues to look out for/be aware of, on an order by order basis.
- Providing technical support and training.
- Drafting manufacturing documentation.
- Meeting project deadlines.
- Overall use of day to day software (CAD, Excel, Sigma-nest, Pulse, Steel projects) for production needs.
Essential
- 2-3 years proven production engineering experience
- Good knowledge of BOMs and other various production related documentation.
- Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good organisational, planning and time management skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Well-developed analytical, innovative and problem-solving abilities;
- Strong computer skills and competency in MS Excel and CAD.
