Oakleaf Contracts are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidates will play a key role in the commercial delivery of projects across the UK and Republic of Ireland, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to a high standard.
Role Responsibilities
- Analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, material, and specialist requirements relevant to drywall and interior fit-out packages
- Preparation of enquiry documents, sourcing and obtaining material and subcontractor quotations, including negotiations and placement of orders
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors regularly to ensure project budgets and commercial targets are maintained
- Complete monthly subcontractor valuations through to final account stage
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations to Main Contractors and PQS teams, including pricing and recording of all variations and additional works
- Measure works in line with contract-specific schedules of rates and agreed project packages
- Liaise with Main Contractors, site management, and clients to agree rates, variations, and cost analysis
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts within agreed timescales
- Work closely with Management and Accounts teams to ensure strong cost control and commercial management across all projects
- Produce accurate monthly commercial reports for Management and Client Progress Meetings
- Attend Site Progress Meetings and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and site teams
- Assist in identifying commercial risks, delays, and opportunities throughout project delivery
- Support the successful commercial delivery of multiple fast-paced projects
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience
- Experience or knowledge within the drywall, partitioning, ceilings, or interior fit-out sector would be preferred, but not essential
- Ideally hold an Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Applicants with HND/HNC qualifications or strong construction-related experience will also be considered
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project
- Must be mobile and willing to travel extensively throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland
- Overnight stays will be required
