Shires Estate & Letting Agents are looking for a positive, driven and people-loving associate to join our successful Stowmarket team.
We’re after someone who can bring energy, charm and determination to every conversation - whether you’re registering an enquiry, arranging a viewing, negotiating an offer or helping someone take a huge step in their property journey.
Experience in estate agency would be a bonus, but it’s not essential. The right attitude, work ethic and hunger to learn matter just as much.
The Job
This is your chance to be right in the middle of the action - speaking with buyers, supporting sellers, booking viewings, agreeing deals and helping make dream moves happen.
You will:
- Register new enquiries and make every applicant feel brilliantly looked after
- Keep in regular contact with buyers, sellers and applicants
- Generate and conduct property viewings
- Match people with homes they’ll genuinely love
- Secure applications and offers
- Negotiate confidently and professionally
- Help the branch achieve monthly sales targets
- Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and customers
- Keep the customer journey moving without letting things gather dust
- Spot opportunities and follow them up properly
- Bring positive energy to the office, even when the phone will not stop ringing
- Celebrate agreed deals like the little victories they are
- Help customers feel excited, reassured and confident from first enquiry to key handover
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is positive, competitive and ready to throw themselves into a busy, fast-moving sales environment.
You will have:
- A brilliant attitude and a genuine desire to succeed
- Strong communication skills
- A natural ability to build rapport quickly
- Confidence speaking to customers face-to-face, over the phone and by email
- A persuasive but professional approach to sales
- Great organisation and time management skills
- The ability to stay focused when things get busy
- A team-player mindset, because lone wolves are overrated
- A competitive streak — the healthy kind, not the “flips the Monopoly board” kind
- Tenacity, resilience and a can-do approach
- A passion for property, people and doing the job properly
- Estate agency sales experience, ideally — but not essential
- A full UK driving licence, because viewings do not usually come to you
What We’ll Bring to the Table
We know great people deserve more than vague promises and a branded pen.
You’ll get:
- A basic salary starts at £25,000
- Realistic OTE of £40,000
- A full-time, permanent role
- Monday to Friday hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
- Alternate Saturdays: 9:00am – 1:00pm
- Time off in lieu during the week when you work a Saturday
- Support from a successful and experienced Stowmarket team
