An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist - Nurse to work into Hambleton North Primary Care Network (PCN) to support the needs of the local population living with eating disorders. The role is part of a pilot scheme based within a single PCN, designed to improve access to early intervention and coordinated support.
This post supports people in primary care settings to deliver collaborative, multi-agency care for patients with eating disorders who do not meet the referral criteria for secondary services.
The post will sit within the GP practices and will offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment and review for working age adults. The role will be offering specialist mental health clinical care. The role will also offer networking expertise and navigation to a range of specialist mental health supports to ensure each person once assessed receives the best possible care in the right place at the right time by the right supporting service.
Candidates should have some experience of working with individuals with an eating disorder to provide advice and consultation for PCN colleagues, whilst also delivering psychoeducation or brief interventions for service users.
The post holder will operate autonomously, applying a high level of professional judgement in complex clinical situations. Key responsibilities include informed decision-making, the assessment and management of referrals, and the provision of specialist consultation and advice.
The post holder will be confident in working independently to manage a caseload of patients with eating disorders who require brief interventions and/or signposting.
The role requires advanced knowledge of risk associated with eating disorders, with responsibility for providing expert clinical advice and guidance to colleagues within the service and to professionals across the wider Trust on effective risk management strategies.
The post holder will work closely with other PCN-based roles to address wider patient needs, e.g. PCN clinical pharmacists for medication reviews, and social prescribing link workers for access to community-based support.
You will be employed by TEWV but will be deployed into the PCN. Support will be given to you by both the PCN and other staff that work in the Specialist Eating Disorder Service within TEWV.
