Job Overview
Convertmy is a Federation of Master Builders (FMB) accredited, award-winning construction company based in Trafford, Greater Manchester. We specialise in high-quality loft conversions, garage conversions, extensions, and bespoke domestic builds across the North West.
We are recruiting an experienced Multi-Skilled Joiner to take a lead role on site. All work is local — based in Trafford and the surrounding areas. No long commutes, no staying away.
This is not a standard joiner role. You will be the person clients trust and the person the site depends on. If you are experienced, take pride in your craft, and want to work for a company that actually respects that — read on.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Structural First Fix: Traditional cut roofs, dormer structures, steel beam installations, and stud wall framing on loft and garage conversions
- Precision Second Fix: Hanging doors, fitting staircases, skirting boards, architraves, and period mouldings to a high standard
- Kitchen Fitting: Full kitchen installations including carcasses, worktops, pelmets, and appliance housing
- Finishing Joinery: All internal finishing work that makes a project complete and client-ready
- Roofing: Felt, batten, tile, and slate work as required on conversion projects
- Plasterboarding: Drylining and ceiling boarding to support project flow
- Insulation: PIR boards, mineral wool, and breathable membranes
- Site Leadership: Taking ownership of the full carpentry lifecycle and working alongside other trades to deliver a seamless finish
- Health & Safety: Working safely at height and in compliance with all relevant regulations
- Drawings: Reading and working to architectural plans and specifications
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent (essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in domestic construction, ideally loft and garage conversions
- Proven competence in first fix and second fix carpentry
- Experience fitting kitchens, hanging doors, and installing skirting and architraves
- Able to read architectural drawings and manage work independently on site
- Experience working on roof structures and safely at height
- Attention to detail — you notice when something is not right before anyone else does
- Own hand and power tools
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS card (preferred)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times

Pay and Benefits
- £20.00 – £25.00 per hour depending on experience and skill level
- Equivalent to £35000 – £50,000 per year based on a standard working week
- Enhanced overtime rates for weekend work
