Job Description: Press brake operator
Job Type: Full-time
We are looking to welcome an experienced Press Break Operator to our team at ABI LASER, producing quality products to meet the exacting demands of our clientele.
Previous experience is essential, tasks and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Responsibilities / Duties include.
- To program, set and operate plant and equipment or manufacturing processes on our AMADA CNC Brake Press. Setups adjust and prepare press brake for operation.
- Selecting correct tooling and dies for material spec/design radii for each job and drawing requirements. o Program and process for various thickness of the material, o Work to a close tolerance, small to medium batches, requiring a high degree of accuracy.
- Construct detailed multi-fold programs to develop parts to match drawings.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings is essential as is the ability to quality inspect your own product,
- Working to standard operating procedures
- Produce quality parts in a timely fashion.
- Perform quality control checks on parts.
- Conduct regular visual quality checks or take measurements.
- To ensure consistent high quality of the finished product, working within drawing specification that is suitable for further stages of manufacture.
- Ensure exemplary housekeeping standards to both machine and work area.
- Perform other duties as required by Supervisor/Manager.
- Strict adherence to company H&S policy
Skills Required
- Experienced CNC Press Brake Programmer, Setter, and Operator, ideally with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Some heavy lifting is involved so you need to be physically fit.
- Attention to detail to ensure high quality output.
- Strong mathematical ability.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Experienced in setting complex jobs and working to tight tolerances.
- Capable of following processes and producing work that conforms to quality and safety standards.
- Proactive and able to work as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills.
- Punctual and reliable
