Innovate Diagnostics is seeking an experienced BSE Accredited Cardiac Physiologist(s) to support the delivery of an outsourced community echocardiography service in Northamptonshire.
The successful candidate will independently perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms using GE Vivid IQ ultrasound equipment within an exisiting, well-established outpatient diagnostic service.
The service will initially operate three clinic days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), with plans to expand to five days per week from August 2026, creating opportunities for additional regular work.

Duties
- Perform detailed transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiograms in accordance with BSE guidelines.
- Analyse and interpret cardiac images to assist cardiologists in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all data is correctly documented and stored securely.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process clearly and ensuring their comfort throughout.
- Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques to minimise infection risk during invasive procedures.
- Assist with quality assurance programmes, including equipment calibration and maintenance checks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification as a Cardiac Physiologist with accreditation from the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE).
- Proven experience in performing echocardiography, including transthoracic and transoesophageal techniques.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to cardiac imaging.
- Proficiency in sonography and familiarity with advanced ultrasound equipment utilised in cardiac assessments.
- Demonstrated understanding of aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during invasive procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in recording and analysing diagnostic data.
