Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Fire Door Engineer to join our team, specializing in the installation, inspection, and remedial work of fire doors across various commercial and residential properties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure safety compliance, enhance building security, and deliver top-quality fire door solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction-related trades, with a focus on fire safety systems, and demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance and remedial works. Your expertise will help safeguard occupants and property by ensuring fire doors are correctly installed, maintained, and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Duties

Install new fire doors in accordance with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and schematics.
Conduct thorough inspections of existing fire doors to identify remedial needs or compliance issues.
Perform remedial works including repairs, adjustments, and replacements of faulty or damaged fire door components.
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to modify or repair fire doors as required.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate installation schedules and ensure quality standards are met.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, remedial actions taken, and compliance documentation.
Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols during all phases of installation and remedial work.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, plastering, or fabrication with a focus on fire safety systems.
Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings related to fire door installation and maintenance.
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and construction painting.
Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, or masonry is advantageous but not essential.
Strong understanding of building regulations related to fire safety and compliance standards for fire doors.
Ability to read technical schematics and follow detailed instructions accurately.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards troubleshooting remedial issues.
