If you are a passionate technician who takes real pride in high-quality engineering, you might be tired of seeing projects left incomplete or not delivered to standard, and long motorway commutes. At EVOTEC Fire & Security we believe efficiency and deadlines matter, but we never compromise on craftsmanship.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented engineer who genuinely cares about the standard of their work – from the neatness of the panel wiring to keeping a tight, clean, organised van.
Whether you are a multi-skilled expert or a specialist in installation or service, we offer a refreshing change: a strictly local patch, absolutely no out-of-hours call-outs, and a team that respects your expertise and supports you in mentoring the next generation of talent.
What we offer
- Competitive salary up to £45k: Highly competitive basic salary, with the room to reward top-tier expertise and deep technical knowledge.
- True work-life balance: A Monday to Friday schedule (08:30–17:00) with absolutely no out-of-hours call-out rota. Your weekends are entirely your own.
- Quality-driven overtime: While we protect your downtime, scheduled overtime is available for those who want it. More importantly, we welcome technicians who take enough pride in their craft to stay and finish a job properly rather than clocking off mid-task.
- Genuine local patch: Based from our Salisbury office, serving Salisbury and the immediate surrounding areas. No exhausting drives into London traffic.
- Premium tools and transport: A high-spec company van with a fuel card, plus all the specialist tools required to do your job safely and professionally.
- Enhanced travel pay: Paid travel time for any exceptional driving required outside of normal working hours.
- Investment in your growth: Full support for advanced manufacturer training courses to keep your skillset sharp and expanding.
About the role
We are looking for a technician who treats every system they touch as a reflection of their own high standards. Whether you are installing a new system or fault-finding on an existing one, your focus will be on precision and quality.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Engineering excellence: Installing, servicing, or maintaining a range of fire and security systems to NSI Gold standards, ensuring every panel is wired neatly and every installation is flawless.
- Pride in ownership: Maintaining an immaculate, well-organised company van and toolset, and thoroughly documenting your work – including taking photos of completed panel wiring as a stamp of your quality.
- Mentorship: Using your deep industry knowledge to naturally coach and mentor junior engineers, helping them develop the same high standards and passion for the trade.
- Customer care: Acting as a trusted expert on-site, communicating clearly with clients and delivering an outstanding level of service that protects our local reputation.
What you bring to the team (Requirements)
- Proven technical expertise: Strong experience in either fire systems, security systems (intruder, CCTV, access control), or ideally both.
- A commitment to quality: A track record of delivering neat, precise work and a genuine passion for engineering excellence.
- Leadership and attitude: The desire to take ownership of your work and the willingness to share your knowledge to help coach less experienced team members.
- Industry standards: A solid understanding of relevant British Standards and NSI guidelines.
- The essentials: A full UK driving licence is required for this mobile role, and you must be able to pass standard security screening.
