We’re Hiring: Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs)

Safer Futures – Cornwall

Safer Futures provides specialist Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy (IDVA) services to adults experiencing domestic abuse. We are expanding our team and are looking for trauma‑informed, compassionate professionals who are committed to empowering survivors and improving safety across our communities.

About the Role

As an IDVA, you will deliver a proactive, high‑quality frontline service to adult male and female survivors of domestic abuse. Your work will be rooted in a trauma‑informed, survivor‑led and risk‑focused approach, ensuring every person you support feels heard, believed and safe.

A key focus of these roles is supporting people who are fleeing domestic abuse to secure and maintain safe accommodation. You will:

Hold high aspirations for the people you support
Help individuals identify their strengths and achieve their goals
Empower survivors to access a wide range of services and community support
Work confidently across multiple settings, including GP practices, hospitals, community venues, outreach locations, MARAC and court environments
Act as a key point of contact for professionals, ensuring coordinated, high‑quality support
This role will require an enhanced DBS check

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you have experience working in a risk‑led environment with people affected by any of the following:

Domestic abuse or sexual violence
Homelessness
Criminal justice
Substance misuse
Mental health challenges

If you are passionate about supporting survivors, committed to trauma‑informed practice, and confident working independently across varied settings, we would love to hear from you.

This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check

Pay: £25,883.00-£28,630.00 per year
