Job Overview
Our IT Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of IT projects with a focus on a Group wide ERP implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, delivery oversight, and successful go-live execution. The Project Manager will work closely with the programme manager, business stakeholders, functional consultants, developers, and 3rd party implementation partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have strong ERP delivery experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record managing complex transformation projects within fast paced environments.
Job Detail
Project Delivery
- Lead end-to-end ERP implementation and transformation projects using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, and success measures
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, RAID logs, status reports, and governance documentation
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, resources, and change requests
- Ensure successful project delivery across all implementation phases including discovery, design, build, testing, deployment, and support
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and delivery teams
- Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and implementation partners
- Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and project governance meetings
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations effectively
ERP & Business Process Coordination
- Support business process workshops and requirements gathering sessions
- Ensure ERP solutions align with operational and financial business processes
- Oversee data migration, integrations, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and cutover activities
- Support change management and post-go-live stabilisation activities
Reporting & Governance
- Provide regular project reporting to leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to agreed project methodologies and governance standards
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify delivery improvements
Person Description
Essential
- Proven experience delivering ERP implementation projects as a Project Manager
- Experience managing multiple workstreams within complex transformation programmes
- Strong understanding of ERP business processes including Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Supply Chain, and Operations
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing third-party vendors and implementation partners
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem solving capabilities
- Experience with project delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches
- Ability to manage budgets, risks, timelines, and resource allocation effectively
- Experience coordinating testing, data migration, integrations, and go-live activities
Desirable
- Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Experience within the construction and distribution sectors
- Knowledge of the wider Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools and reporting solutions
- PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certification
- Familiarity with change management and user adoption strategies
- Experience managing remote delivery teams
- A full UK driving license
