Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking and presentation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional kitchen environment, supporting the overall operation of the restaurant. The Prep Chef will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring as required for daily menu items
Assist in the organisation and setup of workstations to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Support the cooking team by providing prepared ingredients during service hours
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the prep area in accordance with food safety standards
Follow recipes and portion controls accurately to ensure consistency in food quality
Restock supplies and notify management of inventory shortages or equipment issues
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items
Assist with basic cooking tasks when necessary under supervision

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene and sanitation
Basic culinary skills including meal preparation, chopping, and portioning
Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with attention to detail
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
A genuine passion for food and culinary arts, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
