We are looking for a motivated and reliable Print Shop Operative to join our busy print and design team. This is a varied hands-on role involving customer service, quotations, sales support, print production, and general day-to-day shop operations.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, organised, willing to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Serving customers in-store, over the phone, and via email
- Preparing customer quotations and processing orders
- Advising customers on print products, materials, and finishing options
- Operating digital print machinery and finishing equipment
- Assisting with production of:
- Business cards
- Flyers & leaflets
- Posters & banners
- Clothing & promotional items
- Wedding stationery and personalised products
- Preparing artwork files for print (basic design knowledge beneficial)
- Packing and preparing jobs for collection or delivery
- Maintaining stock levels and keeping the shop organised
- Supporting sales and helping identify upselling opportunities
- Assisting with social media or marketing tasks when required
- Ensuring all work meets company quality standards and deadlines
Skills & Experience Required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Confident using computers and email systems
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Previous print shop, retail, or production experience beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other design software is an advantage
