Excelsior Hospitality International (EHI) is a growing hospitality group with an expanding portfolio of hotels, pubs, restaurants, residential properties, and leisure facilities across the UK.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations across multiple sites, ensuring our properties remain safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards.
Purpose of the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management of maintenance operations across multiple properties. You will oversee preventative and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, contractor management, and maintenance planning while supporting operational teams and maintaining exceptional property standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations across multiple company properties, ensuring all buildings, facilities, and external areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Coordinate and manage reactive maintenance, emergency repairs, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes to minimise operational disruption.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance priorities, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Supervise, organise, and support maintenance technicians, tradesmen, and external contractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
- Manage contractor and supplier relationships, including obtaining quotations, coordinating works, monitoring performance, and ensuring value for money.
- Ensure all statutory inspections, servicing schedules, certifications, and legal compliance requirements are completed and maintained within required deadlines.
- Oversee compliance relating to fire safety systems, emergency lighting, electrical and gas certification, HVAC systems, water hygiene, health & safety requirements, and other statutory obligations.
- Manage maintenance tools, equipment, workshops, and stock levels, ensuring materials and supplies are available and controlled effectively.
- Monitor maintenance expenditure and support budget management, identifying cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies where possible.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, contractor information, and operational reports for senior management.
- Support refurbishment projects, property improvements, and capital expenditure initiatives across the business portfolio.
- Provide a proactive and hands-on approach, responding to operational needs and supporting emergency situations when required.
About you
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Maintenance Manager or similar role
- Experience within hospitality, hotels, facilities management, or multi-site property operations
- Strong knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems
- Good understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance
- Experience managing contractors and maintenance teams
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on approach with the ability to prioritise across multiple sites
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or technical qualifications desirable
