Role details:
Weekly Working Hours & OT
10 on 4 off 06:15 – 17:30. 40 min break.
O/T on Sat first 4hrs @1.4 & [email protected], Sun OT1.8
possible opportunity to work on a non-working day( Friday and Monday) at OT rates
*Overtime will not come into effect until your first full working week*
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide construction input during design and planning phases of projects.
- Actively participate in design and construction reviews.
- Prepare scope of works and participate in bid analysis of 3rd party tenders and in house term contractor cost estimates.
- Provide input into the development of project cost estimates and execution programmes.
- Supporting the Project Engineer with the on-site management of construction works.
- Initiate and monitor site construction activities including involvement in weekly labour allocations.
- Review and approval of developed job cards.
- Ensure all vendor paperwork is in place prior to the execution of the works including facilitation of risk assessments and TJSA’s where necessary.
- Liaising with the Ops team to ensure permits and operational controls are in place.
- Monitoring construction contractor compliance with site working requirements and safety performance.
- Monitoring site progress and efficiency/productivity.
- Main point of contact and liaison between construction contractors and Teesside Operations.
- Proactive coordination of the project construction activities with diligent control of any modifications / changes during construction through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislation.
- Analysis of construction problems with input to providing solutions for issues.
- Prioritisation of reactive emergent work requested by operations.
- Contribute to risks reviews and risk assessments.
- Where required attend vendor FAT’s and provide quality assurance for construction activities.
- Support the completions process including the CoR & COF Processes plus PSSR walk downs and punch list items.
- Feeding back daily and weekly progress to the Project Scheduler.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required Essential
- Time served and NVQ educated in relevant Engineering Discipline.
- Demonstrable experience of managing small to medium scaled multi-disciplined projects.
- Extensive (10+ years) experience of site construction activities in Oil & Gas, PetroChem or other regulated industry.
- Demonstrable understanding of engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil.
- Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills.
