As we continue to scale, we are looking for a sharp, high-energy, and target-driven Freight Broker / Transport Coordinator to join our close-knit, high-performing team.
The Role: A Dual-Focus Logistics Position
This is a fast-paced, commercial logistics role that perfectly blends active freight trading with traditional account coordination. You will manage the desk through two main streams:
- Commercial Freight Brokering: The primary focus of your day will involve dominating live freight exchange platforms (like Courier Exchange and Haulage Exchange) to actively bid on, negotiate, and win return loads—maximising vehicle utilisation and eliminating empty miles.
- Operational Coordination: Alongside live market bidding, you will manage incoming direct enquiries from our established client base, accurately pricing, planning, and allocating scheduled jobs to our fleet and subcontractor network.
What You’ll Do Daily
- Master Freight Exchanges: Actively bid on and secure profitable loads via transport exchange networks.
- Command Operations: Allocate won and planned jobs, managing drivers daily via phone, WhatsApp, and GPS tracking.
- Optimise Margins: Monitor vehicle utilisation, costs per mile, and load margins to ensure peak profitability.
- Solve Problems Instantly: Pivot quickly to resolve transit delays, breakdowns, or operational roadblocks with absolute composure.
- Build Relationships: Maintain elite communication with our existing client base and subcontractor network to secure repeat business.
What We Are Looking For
- Exchange Platform Experience: Proven, hands-on experience using Courier Exchange (CX), Haulage Exchange, or similar live bidding platforms.
- Commercial Mindset: A background or strong comfort level with phone-based negotiation, pricing, and fast decision-making.
- Industry Foundations: A solid track record within the UK transport, logistics, or same-day courier sector.
- Geographical Sharpness: Strong foundational knowledge of the UK road networks and postcode zones.
- High-Speed Execution: The ability to multitask and manage a fast-moving traffic desk under pressure.
