Full job description

As the Lead Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations on site, including paperwork as required and monitoring of the plant either on site or remotely.

The successful individual must be able to demonstrate a successful career to date, preferable with experience and knowledge of the Anaerobic Digestion / Renewables sector.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Maintenance lead

Management of maintenance contractors

Management of the PPM schedule and record keeping

Spares and consumables

Permits to works, RAMS assessment and feedback

Out of hours support for site operators when required

Ensure that the site and plant is clean and tidy in accordance with the permit requirements

Make sure all the in and out data is on the spreadsheet and waste transfer notes for material leaving site are saved on the server/ E.g. waste oil, spent carbon

Ensuring that all tools and equipment are suitably cared for and in a usable state

Reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses

Reporting of environmental incidents

Organising CHP oil samples

Ensuring all H&S tasks are completed and updated, such as COSHH, PSSR, LOLET and PUWER

Make sure that the operator data sheet is kept up to date and information is accurate.

Report any issues to the GM in a timely manner

Pro-active problem solving

Diagnosing problems on site through observation and using the SCADA system

Daily operational duties, such as weighing loads in and out, receiving material, dispatching material, off loading

Coordinating scheduled maintenance as per the Planned Preventative Maintenance Plan (PPM) and unscheduled maintenance and ensuring that the maintenance team on site prioritise maintenance works.

Arranging unscheduled maintenance in accordance with the applicable guarantees & O and M contracts.

Daily site inspection, completing the paperwork and ensuring compliance with the EA site permit. This includes walking around the site, completing paperwork and submitting vital information in a timely manner.

Feeding the AD plant and in accordance with the feedplans

Ensuring that the site is completing daily, weekly and monthly mobile and fixed plant checks, reporting defects, greasing, refueling, hydraulics and engine oil checks

Breakdown response and attending call outs

Ensuring that site staff and contractors are following safe systems of work and RAMS, either internal or external before work commences

Take daily readings as required and report daily on the operator sheet

Managing safely to ensure the safety of yourself and others, this includes following SSOW and risk assessments

Work with the General Manager in creating new SSOW and reviewing those documents to ensure they reflect how you work on site

IT literacy and completion of service reports

Maximising CHP / gas export performance and output and in accordance with the budget.

Details of the role

· Site based

· Travel may be required to various locations in the UK

· Flexibility to work on other sites in the locality

· Training of other staff as required on site duties, systems and procedures

· Full driving license essential

Training / Qualifications

· AD / Renewables experience

· IOSH Managing safely

· Engineering qualification
