Full job description

Role Overview:-

The Parts Sales Advisor operates from within a customer’s premises (workshop or depot), acting as the on-site representative for HGV Direct Ltd. The role focuses on maximising parts sales, improving stock availability and delivering a seamless service experience to our customer.

The parts advisor becomes the customer’s first point of contact for all parts-related needs, ensuring fast turnaround, accurate product selection and strong commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities:-

On-site Parts Support – Provide immediate assistance to workshop technicians and managers, identifying required parts and advising on suitable alternatives.
Stock Management – Monitor on-site stock levels, manage replenishment cycles, and ensure critical items are always available.
Order Processing – Raise orders, track deliveries and co-ordinate with the local branch to maintain fast turnaround times.
Customer Relationship Management – Build strong working relationships with the workshop teams.
Technical Product Knowledge – Provide accurate guidance on commercial vehicle components, compatibility and manufacturer specifications.
Problem Resolution – Resolve supply issues, identify alternative solutions and minimise workshop downtime.

Required Skills :-

Commercial Vehicle Knowledge – Understanding of HGV components, workshop processes and fleet maintenance requirements.
Customer Service Excellence – Ability to build trust and deliver a reliable, friendly on-site presence.
Organisation & Prioritisation – Skilled at managing stock, orders and multiple workshop requests simultaneously.
Technical Accuracy – Strong attention to detail when identifying parts and checking compatibility.
Communication Skills – Clear, professional communication with both workshop teams and internal branches.

Experience & Qualifications:-

Experience in commercial vehicle parts, automotive sales, HGV workshop support or fleet maintenance (desirable).
Background in a customer-facing parts role (desirable).
Full UK driving licence.

Performance Indicators:-

On-site sales growth.
Stock accuracy and availability.
Customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Efficiency of order processing.
Quality of reporting and communication.

Typical Working Environment:-

Embedded within a customer workshop or depot.

Close collaboration with HGV Direct’s branch teams for stock and logistics.

Hours of work:-

Monday to Friday 6.00am to 3.00pm, with alternate Saturdays 8am to 12pm.

Salary:-

£28,000 to £32,000 per annum, DOE.

Location:-

Coventry.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
