Job Title: Quality Assistant – Medical Molecular Diagnostics

Location: Micropathology Ltd, Coventry
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Micropathology Ltd is a rapid turnaround medical molecular diagnostics company that serves both the NHS and private clinics. As an ISO15189:2022 accredited diagnostics laboratory, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable, and innovative diagnostic molecular testing. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a committed and detail-driven Quality Assistant to join our team and ensure that our services consistently meet accreditation and regulatory standards.

Role Overview

The Quality Assistant will have a role in the day-to-day organisation of our Quality Management System (QMS) and will have an active role in the ongoing improvement of our QMS, ensuring full compliance with ISO 15189:2022 accreditation standards. This role is central to maintaining excellence across our diagnostic operations and requires a proactive individual who is passionate about quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the maintenance of the Quality Management System in line with ISO 15189:2022 requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across laboratory processes and workflows.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including accreditation assessments.
Ensure timely completion of documentation related to the QMS.
Monitor quality indicators and prepare reports for senior management.
Foster a culture of quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Degree in relevant scientific discipline (or higher).
Demonstrable experience working within a quality team within a clinical, laboratory, or diagnostic environment.
Passionate about compliance and quality assurance.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and consistently meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience working to ISO 15189:2012/2022 accreditation standards
Experience within molecular diagnostics or similar highly regulated laboratory settings.
Strong problem-solving ability and a continuous-improvement mindset.
Understanding of regulatory requirements within medical or clinical diagnostics.
