Work Location
Please note that due to the nature of this role and business operation requirements, the successful applicant will be required to work the majority of their time on campus.
As a Theatre Technician at Warwick Arts Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering a diverse programme of live events, conferences and hires within one of the UK’s largest multi-venue arts centres. Working as part of a collaborative technical team, you will support and deliver high-quality production standards across lighting, sound, stage, and AV disciplines, with a particular specialism in at least one area.
This is a multi-skilled, hands-on role requiring you to rig, install, and operate technical systems, as well as support visiting artists, companies, and student societies in realising their productions. You will contribute throughout the production lifecycle, including pre-production planning, rehearsals, and live events.
In addition, you will help maintain technical equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and industry best practice. The role also involves supervising freelance crew, supporting venue users, and contributing to a positive and professional working environment. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires evening and weekend work typical of the live events industry.

You are a strong communicator and team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, visiting professionals, and student groups. You are proactive, solution-focused, and confident working both independently and as part of a wider team in a fast-paced environment.
You have excellent problem-solving skills, good IT knowledge (including systems such as AutoCAD), and the flexibility to respond to the changing demands of live event production. A commitment to high standards of customer care is essential, as is the ability to work safely in physically demanding environments, including working at height and during unsocial hours.
