Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Coffee Shop Barista/Shift Supervisor to join our vibrant team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining excellent customer service standards, and overseeing daily operations during their shift.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop leadership skills while working in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, smoothies, frappes and other refreshments in accordance with company standards.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and service.
Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any queries or concerns promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee shop, including cleaning equipment and work/ customer areas.
Assist with stock management, including replenishing supplies and checking product freshness.
Support the team during busy periods by assisting with serving customers and managing queues efficiently.
Oversee shift operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety policies.
Supervise and train junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of service are maintained.

Skills

Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar food service role, with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques Essential
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Excellent serving skills with a friendly, approachable attitude towards customers.
Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks efficiently.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Effective time management skills to prioritise tasks and oversee shift activities smoothly.
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and supervise shifts confidently.
