Stewarts of Tayside Ltd is looking for a proactive and organised Engineering Parts & Stores Coordinator to support our production and farming operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering department and play a key role in ensuring parts, consumables, and materials are available when required. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing, stock control, goods receipt, and maintaining an organised engineering stores environment.
There will also be opportunities to help develop and improve stores processes, stock control systems, and purchasing procedures as the department continues to evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Order engineering parts, consumables, and materials to support maintenance activities
- Track purchase orders and monitor supplier delivery performance
- Receive and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders
- Organise and maintain engineering stores and stock locations
- Issue parts and consumables to engineers and record usage
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels
- Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and identify cost-effective purchasing options
- Support the Engineering Manager with stock control and purchasing activities
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing use of stock control and maintenance management systems
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised stores environment
Role Requirements
- Experience in stores, parts, purchasing, stock control, or warehouse operations
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities
- Good communication skills when dealing with suppliers and engineers
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, agricultural, automotive, transport, or maintenance environment
- Experience using stock control or ERP systems
- Forklift licence or experience
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance software
Role Information
- Full-time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:30, 45 hours per week
- Reports to the Engineering & Facilities Manager
