The starting annual salary for this role is £28,516.80, subject to experience.
Paid monthly in arrears on the last day of the month.

ABOUT US

We are a SEPA registered waste management and recycling company operating from purpose-built facilities in Kirkcaldy. Our objective is to improve the local environment by helping local commercial organisations achieve their environmental objectives by efficiently diverting as much waste as possible from landfill and by maximising recycling opportunities.
We offer a reliable and efficient service for commercial bins (cardboard and paper, dry mixed recycling, food waste, general mixed waste, mixed coloured glass waste) and commercial skip and a roll-on/roll-off box hire service that provides our clients with an affordable and economical solution for disposing of large quantities of waste at their own premises and any of their worksites.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Management Team to optimise employee performance, enhance recycling opportunities, and oversee the processing of various waste streams and recyclable materials. You will monitor operational efficiency and support the achievement of performance targets. This is a physically demanding role, requiring heavy lifting and a strong understanding of mechanical processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with the Management Team to optimise employee performance.
Identify and maximise recycling opportunities.
Oversee the processing of various waste streams and recyclable materials.
Sort and separate materials and ensure they are properly prepared for recycling.
Operate machinery and equipment to process recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
Monitor operational efficiency and maintain quality control throughout the recycling process.
Perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.
Apply mechanical knowledge to support day-to-day operations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
Follow all safety protocols and operational guidelines.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labour on a daily basis.
Attention to detail to sort and separate various waste grades and materials.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good attitude and strong work ethic.
Reliable and dedicated.
Impeccable attendance and timekeeping.
