The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is an independent membership organisation dedicated to the education, training and advancement of surgeons, dental surgeons, doctors, and various individuals throughout healthcare who are involved in the surgical care of patients. Position:

Working within the Surgical Examinations department, the post holder provides support to the Examination Coordinators for all examinations in the Surgical portfolio. They are responsible for maintaining candidate and examiner records, managing general correspondence and telephone enquiries in a timely and courteous fashion, and managing application files. This role requires a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders to maintain high standards of academic integrity.

The role combines administrative duties, along with providing support at exams (both in the UK and internationally). As such, there will be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.

Requirements:

This is a superb opportunity for an individual who is confident, methodical, organised and conscientious.

Educated to a minimum level of National 5 (or equivalent) you will have proven administrative, secretarial and database experience.

You will have excellent communication and team working skills. You will be a proficient user of the MS Office suite and have the ability to prioritise your workload with minimum supervision. A high level of professionalism and diplomacy is required for the role as is a willingness to take on new challenges and be receptive to change.
